Earth Angel HibiscusLiving up to its name, the Earth Angel™ Hollywood® Hibiscus features soft white flowers with large, velvety petals. Each season, blooming with a profusion of creamy white flowers adds tropical elegance to any landscape. Carefully developed to mix standout blooms with impressive longevity, the Earth Angel is a garden favorite for more than one reason. Blooms last for most of the year. The Earth Angel Hollywood Hibiscus gives you tropical, green foliage punctuated with graceful flowers from spring until the first frost for a true 3-season display. Plus, it's hardy and easy to grow. While other flowering shrubs may wilt in the hottest part of summer, the Earth Angel stands up to the heat and humidity. The best part? The Earth Angel will fit in seamlessly anywhere in your landscape. This medium-sized flowering shrub is perfect for patio containers, landscape planting, or adding color around a pool. Planting & Care 1. Planting: Start by selecting an area with well-drained soil that receives around 6 to 8 hours of sunlight daily. When you're ready to plant, dig your hole twice as wide as the root ball and just as deep. Place the shrub into the planting hole and gently spread the roots by combing them with your hands. Then, backfill the soil and water your planting site. If you're planting in a container, select a pot that's about twice the width of your plant's container. 2. Watering: The Hibiscus loves moist soil, so we recommend watering about twice weekly. If you're unsure when to water, simply check the soil about 2 inches down. If the soil is dry here, it's time to water. And if your Hibiscus is growing indoors, ensure your container has drainage holes. Water your indoor Hibiscus until you see it flowing from your pot's drainage holes. 3. Fertilizing: Apply a balanced or low phosphorus slow-release fertilizer to your Hibiscus right before new growth emerges in the spring. 4. Pruning: After the last threat of frost, give it a little trim by cutting the stems back to about half their length. This will encourage greater blooming potential! |
